For today's dinner, I ate at Yakitoro Reina here in Madrid. I must say, I had an excellent time; from the good food to the attentive staff, Yakitoro left very little to be desired. The atmosphere was pleasant, making it a perfect date spot. It wasn't too loud, which allowed for good conversation, and I particularly enjoyed the design of the tables. I inquired about the 5 best items on the menu, and here's what we ordered:
We started with Tuna Tartare, which I feel is a contender for the best dish of the night. The rice was cooked to perfection, and the spicy mayo complemented the tartare beautifully. Next, we had the Grilled Scallops. To be honest, they were a bit disappointing. While the scallops were cooked well, the accompanying sauce wasn't to my taste. We also ordered the Lemon Fish Säam, which was incredible. The fish, glazed masterfully, paired well with the crunchy elements. Following that, we tried the Eggplant Tempura. This dish was a pleasant surprise; the batter was light yet crunchy and paired with a delectable sauce. The Wagyu Yakitori was the final entrée. It was fantastic, especially with the chimichurri sauce—a flavor I still crave. We concluded our meal with White Chocolate Custard. It was good, but I'm uncertain if I'd order it again. Overall I really did enjoy my dinner at Yakitoro and I feel I would return. My overall rating for this dinning experience would have to be a 7.4/10.
